What is the difference between Seminar, Workshop and Coaching?

There are many different kinds of people and everybody needs a different solution. Seminars are talks given on any particular topic that can enhance the quality of your life. Various ideas, thoughts, distinctions are mentioned during the seminar. The main talking is done by the speaker and the seminars are generally of 2 to 3 hours duration. This is good enough for many people who have the discipline to take away these ideas and implement them in their own life. The next higher step is the workshop which is for people who dont have the discipline to do things on their own. The workshops are generally a full day or 2 days and are intensive in nature. This is a two way interactive session where the participants get to do all the exercises during the workshop and hence get more value. Most people would be able to then carry on with the tools and techniques in their own time. Coaching is for those few people who find it difficult to implement these ideas even after attending a workshop either because of their lack of time or lack of discipline. Coaching is one on one where you will be attached to a coach who will guide you through the entire process of self-development over a period of time. You could opt in for as little as 3 sessions or go for a full fledged package of 12 / 24 or even 36 sessions.

What happens if I attend a workshop or coaching session and feel that it has not helped me?

We are very confident that this will not happen, but on the rare occasion if this happens all that you need to do is tell us at the end of the workshop / coaching session that you are not satisfied and we will refund your full amount.

How many workshops / seminars should I attend?

There is no particular number. It all depends on how keen you are on personal development and becoming a better person and living life at an enhanced level. Our seminars and workshops cover various life and people skills and you can pick and choose the areas that you feel that you need to improve your skills.

What is Coaching?

Coaching is a process that helps a client achieve their full potential. Coaching facilitates the exploration of needs, motivations, desires, skills and thought processes to assist the individual in making real, lasting change. Coaching consists of using questioning techniques to facilitate client's own thought processes in order to identify solutions and actions rather than takes a wholly directive approach.

Why would I want to hire a coach?

Often times we reach a fork in the road and feel stuck and lost. We lose clarity and perspective as a result of being where we are. It helps to see from a new perspective and that is the role of the coach. The coach can offer insight, perspective, clarity and support and because they are trained to help you to harness your full potential, they can accelerate your growth and help you in gaining momentum to move your forward to your goals.

How do I find a coach for me?

The best way is to send us an enquiry with a brief write up on what you are looking for and we will then get in touch with you and set up an initial consultation meeting to identify your requirements before assigning a coach who can address your particular requirements.

How do I know coaching will help me to overcome my challenge?

Even the best in the field have a coach to guide them and take them to new heights. Roger Federer, Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan are some examples of leaders in their respective fields who work with coaches. So the answer to the question is that you don’t know, and that is because there are too many variables all of which the coach does not control. However in view of past experience, if the client is committed to the coaching process, then we can say with a fair degree of certainity that you will be able to overcome your challenge.

Are there different types of coaching?

Yes, there are a number of types of coaching. There is Business Coaching, Spiritual Coaching, Executive Coaching, Leadership Coaching, Relationship Coaching and many other types.

What is involved in coaching?

Coaching involves a process of open communication between the coach and the client, where the coach observes, listens and asks questions to understand the client's situation, supports the client in setting appropriate goals and methods of assessing progress in relation to these goals and encourages a commitment to action and the development of lasting personal growth & change.

How much time do I need to invest in the coaching process?

As much time as is possible and needed. Coaching is a lifelong process and never ends. However coaching could be used to address a specific challenge that the client is facing in an area of their life that they would like to overcome and once that is done then the coaching could stop. So this could be just one session or 10 sessions, whatever it takes to achieve the outcomes that are set out at the start of the coaching sessions.

Is coaching and counselling the same?

No they are not the same. Coaching is more to do with helping people achieve their goals whereas counselling is more like a therapy to overcome a specific challenge that a client is facing. In being coached, one does not have to admit either to needing help or even to having a problem, so the shame-based feelings often triggered by counselling or therapy are by-passed. It is no disgrace to have a coach, when even Tiger Woods has had several.

Is coaching only for people who are facing challenges in life?

As mentioned above coaching is a process to help you take the next step and play at a higher level in any area of your life whether it be professional, relationship or health. In fact most people work with coaches in order to design their life rather than try and make a living. Coaching helps you take control of your life and chart out your own course.

How many hours of coaching would I need?

It really depends on what are the outcomes that you are looking for. If it is for a specific challenge that you are looking to overcome or a specific goal in mind that you would like to achieve then anywhere from 1 to 10 sessions might suffice, however if you are looking to transform your life and take control of your life so that you can lead a happy, fulfilled and peace filled life then you might need to work with a coach for a far longer period.

How long are the coaching sessions?

An average coaching session is around 1 Hour. But this can vary greatly depending on the nature of coaching and requirements of the client.

How often are the coaching sessions?

The coaching sessions could be once a week, once a fortnight or once a month. Generally the gap between 2 coaching sessions should be long enough to enable the client to take the necessary actions that have been agreed upon, but not too long so that the continuity is broken. There has to be a flow and connection between the coaching sessions.

Is what I say held in confidence?

Everything that is said or discussed in a coaching session is held in strict confidence.
